CTOnews.com Note: FFmpeg is an open source free software that can perform audio and video recording, conversion, and streaming functions in multiple formats, including libavcodec--, a decoder library for audio and video in multiple projects, and libavformat--, an audio and video format conversion library. The word "FFmpeg" means "Fast Forward". FFmpeg is widely used in multimedia applications, including the popular video player VLC.

According to the official statement, the release of FFmpeg version 6.1 had to be delayed due to constant activity in the version library, and the FFT, MDCT, DCT and DST implementations for codecs and filters have been completely replaced with faster libavutil / tx, thus reducing the size of compiled binaries and significantly reducing the total amount of allocation per frame in the video decoder, thereby reducing performance overhead.
