CTOnews.com, November 12 (Xinhua)-- Karma Automotive is an American luxury car brand founded by China Wanxiang Group after acquiring bankrupt Fisker Automotive. Karma recently unveiled a new electric supercar called Kaveya, the brand's first attempt to build a high-end sports car designed to showcase its "American luxury" brand positioning.

The Kaveya is a two-door, two-seater large travel coupe with scissors doors and streamlined body design, with hidden lamp sets and wipers at the front and rear to improve aesthetics and aerodynamics. There is also an active rear spoiler at the rear of the car, which can adjust the angle and width according to the speed and driving mode to increase the lower pressure and stability.

The Kaveya will offer two power configurations, the rear-wheel drive dual-motor version and the all-wheel drive three-motor version. The dual-motor version, with a maximum power of 536 horsepower, is expected to be available by the end of 2025. The three-motor version, with a maximum power of 1196 horsepower and a peak torque of 1270 lb-ft, can accelerate from rest to 60 mph in three seconds and is expected to be available by the end of 2026. Both versions use a 120-kilowatt-hour battery pack, placed behind drivers and passengers, similar to the layout of a mid-engine. Karma says the battery pack has a range of more than 250km (CTOnews.com Note: about 402.34 km) and supports fast DC charging, which can be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent in 45 minutes.

Kaveya's interior is also exquisite, using origami-like sharp lines and leather materials to create a sense of the future and luxury. The control system in the car depends almost entirely on the touch screen and capacitive buttons, without physical buttons, which may affect the convenience and safety of operation.

In addition to the Kaveya, Karma plans to launch an all-electric car next year, called the Gyesera, the brand's first all-electric model and an upgrade to its previous plug-in hybrid, the Revero. With a maximum power of 590hp, peak torque of 693lb-ft, acceleration time of 0-60mph and less than 4.2s, Gyesera has the same 120kWh battery pack as Kaveya and has a range of more than 250mph. Gyesera will compete with luxury electric cars such as Tesla Model S and Mercedes-Benz EQS.
