Update 15:51: OpenAI said on its website that it had resolved failures in four services and resumed services at 22:44 PST. Services such as API, ChatGPT, Labs and Playground were interrupted and are now operating normally.

CTOnews.com news on November 12, OpenAI said that ChatGPT and other services have malfunctioned and are investigating the causes of various service outages.

CTOnews.com noticed that ChatGPT had a major failure a few days ago, making the application unusable. OpenAI said that this is due to periodic interruptions caused by abnormal traffic patterns in DDoS attacks.

OpenAI launched a new AI product, GPTs, at its first developer conference, DevDay, on Tuesday, which allows developers and companies to customize ChatGPT to meet their specific needs and services. The company also laid out a preview of its GPT-4 Turbo model, with a 128k context window, which OpenAI said would enable it to accept the equivalent of 300 pages of individual text prompts. It will also be faster than the current GPT-4 chat robot, while reducing the running cost to half.

At present, the number of ChatGPT's weekly active users has exceeded 100 million. More than 92 per cent of Fortune 500 companies are already using its platform, up from 80 per cent in August, covering sectors such as financial services, legal applications and education, OpenAI said.
