CTOnews.com, Nov. 10, according to Bloomberg, recently, an unnamed person familiar with the situation claimed that Apple would appeal against the inclusion of the App Store in the EU's new digital antitrust list. Apple's appeal is still in the draft stage and could change before the November 16 deadline for filing a challenge with the European Union's ordinary court.

The move could pave the way for another legal standoff between Apple and the European Union, as it will be the first of several appeals filed by Apple against the Digital Market Act, the report said.

Apple also believes its iMessage service should not be subject to tighter scrutiny by regulators, according to people familiar with the matter. However, neither Apple nor the European Union responded to Bloomberg's request for comment.

The bill aims to impose stricter regulation on large technology companies, prevent them from favouring their own services, restrict data consolidation, and require them to allow users to download App from competitors' platforms.

Although Apple plans to appeal against the inclusion of App Store and iMessage, it will still have to abide by the rules after the rules take effect in March next year.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Apple has tried to lobby the European Union to support App Store for security and other factors, and at least some important parts of it can be modified, but with the landing of the Digital Market Act, Apple admitted in the document that App Store adjustment for the European market is inevitable.

According to the 10murk document submitted by Apple, the company estimates that it will be forced to run third-party app stores in the European market from 2024.
