CTOnews.com, November 10 (Xinhua)-- the US Space Force's Xmuri 37B space shuttle will launch its seventh mission (USSF-52) on SpaceX's Falcon heavy rocket on December 7, 2023, the first time it has been launched on a SpaceX heavy rocket.

Col. Joseph Frichin (Joseph Fritschen), director of the XMY 37B program, said in a statement.

It is not clear why the Falcon heavy rocket was chosen for the USSF-52 mission. CTOnews.com Note: the XMui 37B had five previous launches on United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket, but in the fifth mission (USA-277), it took off on SpaceX's small rocket Falcon 9.

The maximum carrying capacity of the Falcon heavy carrier rocket is close to 64 tons, more than three times that of the Falcon 9 rocket. It is speculated that the Xmur37B will travel to a higher orbit and carry out secret missions in high orbit that will not be disclosed to the outside world, including high-orbit space situational awareness tests with anti-satellite combat potential.
