According to an inquiry by CTOnews.com of the ▲ Tupu GNOME Foundation, the Sovereign Technology Fund is a project funded by the German government and operated by Adriana Groh and Fiona Krakenb ü rg, which is said to have "years of experience in promoting open source technology" and is committed to supporting the operation and maintenance of open source digital infrastructure.

For more than 25 years, GNOME has played an important role in free software, open source, and Linux desktop ecosystems. The GNOME community is competent, diverse and dynamic. Today, GNOME desktops and applications are used by millions of people, and its technology is deployed on countless devices and products.

According to GNOME, the investment from the sovereign technology fund will fund the following projects:

Improve GNOME accessibility

Design a new accessibility stack and make a prototype

Support to encrypt user home directory separately

Achieve modern private storage

Expand the scope and quality of hardware support

Investment quality assurance and developer experience

Expand and widen freedesktop API

Integrate and improve platform components
