Tencent Group announced on November 9 that it will release the international version of the low-carbon community platform "Carbon LIVE" at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28).

The international edition of Carbon LIVE will become the official support platform for the Global Low Carbon Innovation Alliance, a COP28-facilitated alliance that brings together innovators and practitioners in the global climate field, including Tencent, Masdar City and Catalyst, to jointly promote the development of climate science and technology ecology. At present, nearly 30 leading international enterprises and associations in the field of science and technology or climate, including LinkedIn and McKinsey, have joined the alliance.

The most important support platform for the Alliance is Carbon Live. Carbon LIVE aims to connect and empower individuals and organizations in the carbon-neutral field, break down information barriers in the low-carbon field, provide them with a range of collaborative tools, including social networks, project inventories, and provide reliable technologies and solutions for entrepreneurs, investors and research institutions in the climate field. The Chinese version of "Carbon LIVE" was first launched in China in 2022. The international version of "Carbon LIVE" will be released during COP28, hoping to build a global community for innovators and peers of green technology, so that they can find the most cutting-edge technologies, information and partners in the low-carbon field anytime and anywhere.

For example, the Resource Planet section of Carbon LIVE allows users to quickly publish, search and subscribe to climate technology-related resources, such as challenges, incubators, workshops and industry fairs, enhancing the transparency and circulation of these resources. The Action Map is an open source portal to share climate-related insights and best practices in a simple and intuitive way; climate innovators can showcase innovative climate technologies through the Product Technology section, connecting innovators, users and investors. At the same time, the Tools Lab integrates low-carbon domain data and analytical tools from partners to provide insight and analysis for low-carbon action. These functions have been opened to the international community to accelerate cooperation between partners in different fields and countries, pool knowledge and promote climate action on a global scale.

At COP28 connect the world's leading climate experts

COP28 will be held in United Arab Emirates on November 30. This is an important opportunity for negotiation and change in the climate field, when global leaders come together to further negotiate and take action on key issues such as climate change mitigation, adaptation and financing.

Tencent will attend COP28 as one of the main partners of the "Global Low Carbon Innovation Alliance." The official support platform "Carbon LIVE" provided by Tencent demonstrates Tencent's thinking and commitment to climate solutions, which is also the first initiative and implementation practice since the establishment of the "Global Low Carbon Innovation Alliance."

The alliance was established with the joint efforts of key partners such as Tencent, Masdar City and Catalyst. The future alliance will be dedicated to supporting innovation in the field of climate technology and accelerating the construction of global climate ecosystems.

In addition to these key partners, climate technology stakeholders from around the world will contribute resources, low-carbon projects and join the Alliance as partners to advance climate solutions. Since the launch of Carbon LIVE last year, the platform has established partnerships with many local and international organizations, including Impact Hub Shanghai, New Energy Nexus, Puyue China, Avenue Climate Change Promotion Center, Meituan Qingshan and other institutions. Supported by Tencent's digital capabilities, Carbon LIVE is connecting the global low-carbon community to drive climate action. With the further expansion of Carbon LIVE, the platform expects more low-carbon fellow travelers to participate.
