A source from the report said that most of the development work on the new operating system was "completed" and that Amazon is now trying to persuade application developers to actually use it. According to the report, Amazon will launch the first Fire TV devices with Vega in 2024.

It also said Amazon plans to eventually use Vega OS on all its devices, including in-car operating systems and unnamed future technology projects, and that the new operating system will integrate Amazon's advertising and paid services.
