CTOnews.com, November 9 (Xinhua)-- the Macworld website has updated its Apple chip performance comparison table, covering all Apple processors from the A13 Bionic of the 9th generation iPad to the top M3 Max of the new MacBook Pro.

CTOnews.com noted that the test results of Geekbench 6 show that the M3 Max in the new MacBook Pro is almost comparable to the M2 Ultra in Mac Studio and Mac Pro.

In multi-core tests, the M3 Max reached about 20800. This is comparable to the score of the previous best Apple chip M2 Ultra, which is about 2800 and 21000, respectively.

The result is amazing because it means that the best chips in Apple's laptops are now comparable to the highest-performing Mac desktop chips in the current Mac Studio and Mac Pro.

The reason for the significant performance improvement of the M3 Max compared to the M2 Max is that it uses the 3nm process and has 50% more performance cores (12 cores).

M2 Ultra is still king, but its position is unstable. The multicore score of M3 Max is only slightly behind, and the single core score has exceeded M2 Ultra. In addition, the multicore score of M3 Pro is between the two versions of M2 Max.

Of course, M3 Ultra has not been released yet, and it is clear that it will be at the top of the list when it is released.
