CTOnews.com, November 9, according to the Financial Associated Press, Horizon CEO Yu Kai revealed at the 2023 World Internet Conference that Journey 6 will be officially released next year and start mass production, and said that the chip will be an epoch-making "new intergenerational product" to meet the needs of mass production from low to high-level scene and provide better solutions for pain points.

Yu Kai said that at present, the functions of middle-level intelligent driving assistance products (such as high-speed NOA) that have been mass-produced on the market are only "available" but not "easy to use", while the urban functions of high-end products are not yet "available". He called on the industry to return to rationality and continue to work together to find a reasonable way to achieve a balance between real user value and reasonable cost.

According to CTOnews.com, Horizon, a domestic supplier of smart driving chips, was established in July 2015 and released its first smart chip, the Journey for Intelligent driving and the rising Sun for AIoT in December 2017. It first produced the 5 chip in September 2022, and established a joint venture with Volkswagen's software company CARIAD in October of the same year.

The Journey 5 chip has 128TOPS computing power, 30W power consumption, 16 sensor inputs, multi-type sensor fusion, 1531 FPS real computing performance and 60ms ultra-low latency sensing capability. As of September this year, Cheng Cheng 5 chip shipments exceeded 200,000 pieces.

So far, the models equipped with journey chips include Guangzhou Auto EA AION Y, Dongfeng Lantu FREE, 2021 ideal ONE, ideal L8, ideal L7, Changan UNI-T, Changan UNI-K and so on.
