According to CTOnews.com news on November 9, SMIC released a report for the third quarter of 2023 that the company's sales revenue in the third quarter of this year was $1.62 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 11.794 billion yuan), an increase of 3.9% month-on-month, in the middle of the guidance; gross profit margin was 19.8%, down 0.5% from the previous quarter. The company's overall shipments continued to increase, increasing by 9.5% month-on-month. As the total capacity as the denominator increased to 796000 pieces, the average capacity utilization fell 1.2 percentage points to 77.1%.

SMIC's net profit attributed to the owner of the parent company in the first three quarters was 3.675 billion yuan, down 60.86% from the same period last year; operating income was 33.098 billion yuan, down 12.35% from the same period last year; and basic earnings per share was 0.46 yuan, down 61.34% from the same period last year.

SMIC expects sales revenue to grow by 1% Mur3% in the fourth quarter compared with the previous quarter; gross profit margin will continue to bear the pressure of depreciation of new capacity, which is expected to be between 16% and 18%. Capital expenditure for the whole year is expected to rise to about $7.5 billion.
