According to CTOnews.com news on November 9, Weibo today released unaudited financial results for the third quarter of 2023, with revenue of $442.2 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 3.219 billion yuan), down 3% from a year earlier and up 2% at a fixed exchange rate.

Advertising and marketing revenue was $389.3 million (currently about 2.834 billion yuan), down 1 per cent from a year earlier and up 3 per cent at a fixed exchange rate.

Revenue from value-added services was $52.9 million (currently about 385 million yuan), down 12 per cent from a year earlier and 7 per cent at a fixed exchange rate.

Operating profit is $134 million (currently about 976 million yuan), with an operating margin of 30 per cent. Net profit attributable to Weibo shareholders was $77.5 million (currently about 564 million yuan), or 32 cents per diluted share.

Non-GAAP operating profit is $163.9 million (currently about 1.193 billion yuan), while non-GAAP operating profit margin is 37%. Net profit attributable to non-GAAP shareholders of Weibo was $136.6 million (currently about 994 million yuan), up 17% from a year earlier, and non-GAAP diluted net profit per share was 57 cents.

As of the end of September 2023, Weibo's monthly active users (MAU) were 605 million, a net increase of about 21 million from a year earlier. Mobile monthly active users account for 95% of the monthly active users.

In September 2023, Weibo had an average daily active users (DAU) of 260 million, a net increase of about 8 million users over the same period last year.

Wang Gaofei, CEO of Weibo, said: "We have further improved the traffic structure and operational efficiency of the platform this quarter. In terms of users, our monthly active users have broken through the 600 million mark. In terms of content operations, we focus on strengthening our content ecosystem by developing key content verticals to drive traffic growth in all content verticals, increase user engagement and unlock the cash potential of our platform. In terms of cash, our advertising business showed a moderate recovery this quarter.
