CTOnews.com November 9 news, the Federation of passengers today released the October 2023 narrow passenger car retail sales statistics. According to the data, retail sales in the domestic narrow passenger car market reached 2.033 million in October, up 10.2 per cent from a year earlier, and 0.7 per cent month-on-month growth of 17.267 million vehicles from January to October, an increase of 3.2 per cent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com attached the specific data of each vehicle category as follows:

Car sales in October were 935000, up 1.7 per cent from a year earlier and 0.6 per cent from a month earlier, while cumulative sales were 8.148 million, down 2.3 per cent from a year earlier.

MPV sales in October were 93000, up 13.1% from a year earlier, down 8.4% from a month earlier; cumulative sales were 906000, up 17.6% from a year earlier.

SUV sales in October were 1.006 million, up 19.3% year-on-year and 1.8% month-on-month, while cumulative sales were 8.212 million, up 7.8% from a year earlier.

In October, sales of new energy passenger cars in the narrow sense were 766000, up 37.4% from the same period last year, up 2.6% from the previous year, and the cumulative sales were 5.953 million, up 34.2% from the same period last year.

In terms of retail sales of new energy manufacturers, the top 10 car companies in October were BYD, Geely, SAIC GM Wuling, Changan, GAC Eian, ideal, Great Wall, Tesla China, Xiaopeng, Zero run; the top 10 car companies in cumulative sales from January to October were BYD, Tesla China, GAC Ean, Geely, SAIC GM Wuling, Changan, ideal, Great Wall, Ulai, Zero run.

Let's take a look at the market share. In that month, BYD continued to control one-third of the domestic new energy car market, with a share of 33.7%, Geely 7.8%, SAIC GM Wuling and Changan followed by 6.4% and 6.3% respectively. GAC Ean dropped significantly to 5.4% from 6.8% last month, and ideal ranked sixth with 5.3%.

Judging from the overall list, BYD continued to maintain a market share lead of 12.7% in that month. FAW-Volkswagen and Geely both tied for second place with 7.5% share, and the fourth and fifth places were the same as last month, still Changan and SAIC-Volkswagen. From January to October this year, the top five car companies in retail sales are still BYD, FAW-Volkswagen, Changan, Geely and SAIC-Volkswagen.
