CTOnews.com, November 9 (Xinhua)-- Market research firm Counterpoint Research recently released a report saying that the material cost of Apple's iPhone 15 Pro Max has increased by $37.70 compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Based on the analysis of the 8GB+256GB version of iPhone 15 Pro Max, it is concluded that the material cost of the machine is $508.9, an increase of $37.70 and 8% compared with iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The starting price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been raised by $100, which is expected to bring more profits to Apple.

The increase in the cost of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is as follows: Apple's next-generation A17 Pro, the first 3nm process processor, uses TSMC's state-of-the-art 3nm manufacturing technology, which encapsulates more than 19 billion transistors in a chip, 18% more than the A16 bionic. The GPU performance of iPhone 15 Pro Max has been improved by 20%, thanks to the improved 6-core GPU architecture.

Apple's A17 Pro processor costs $30 more than the A16.

Another notable upgrade to the first 5x telephoto lens is the 5x telephoto camera, which is equivalent to 120mm focal length.

The camera consists of a quadruple reflection prism that reflects light four times, allowing users to capture clearer close-ups from longer distances.

Lante Optics is the main supplier of the prism. Where costs are down: Apple has upgraded the DRAM of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to 8GB, a higher 2GB than its predecessors.
