At the China Automobile Industry Development Forum on the 7th, Dr. Xu Hao, head of R & D in Qualcomm China, delivered a speech to share and analyze the current development trends of the automobile industry, such as car networking, digital services, autonomous driving, etc. He also introduced Qualcomm's 5G+AI enablement to provide Snapdragon digital chassis for automotive enterprises, including digital cockpit platform, intelligent connection platform, intelligent driving platform and vehicle-to-cloud service platform.

Xu Hao pointed out that China's automobile industry has made great progress in recent years. The production and sales of new energy vehicles in China have ranked first in the world for eight consecutive years. By 2023, China has become the world's largest automobile exporter. He analyzed the reasons why China's automobile industry, especially intelligent network new energy vehicles, can develop so rapidly.

Xu Hao first pointed out the first reason, the current automobile industry is in profound changes. The change includes two aspects, one is electrification, that is, motor drive, gradually replacing engine and gearbox drive; the other is intelligence, that is, car networking, digital cockpit, assisted driving/automatic driving, vehicle-to-cloud service. The electrification and intellectualization of automobile industry are almost synchronous development, and they promote each other and promote each other.

The second reason Xu points out is that new technologies can be quickly put into use in China. Chinese users are more willing to accept new technologies, and Qualcomm has a deep understanding of this. China has always been the largest 5G market in the world. The number of 5G base stations and user terminals in China ranks first in the world, and it is significantly ahead of other countries. A similar situation has emerged in the automobile market, with sales of new energy vehicles in China accounting for about 60% of the world's total.

The third reason is that China has a large user base. According to market research data, China's automobile sales accounted for 32.91% of the world's sales in 2022, very close to one-third. The huge market brings many benefits. After a single product is put on the market, it can get timely feedback from many users. Because of fierce competition, manufacturers must make timely responses to feedback, which makes the iteration speed of Chinese automobiles much faster than that of other countries, thus positively driving the rapid development of China's automobile industry.

Xu Hao also introduced Qualcomm's close cooperation with Chinese manufacturers. Qualcomm began to cooperate with Chinese automobile manufacturers 15 years ago. Many important milestones in Qualcomm's automobile field were jointly realized with Chinese partners. Qualcomm is now also working extensively with Chinese automakers through 5G+ AI-enabled Snapdragon digital chassis solutions to help Chinese automakers create an excellent driving experience. In the past two years, Qualcomm has partnered with more than 40 Chinese car brands to launch more than 100 new models equipped with Snapdragon digital chassis. He expressed the hope that there will be more cooperation opportunities to jointly push forward the automobile industry.
