CTOnews.com, November 9 (Xinhua)-- in July this year, GitHub announced the release of a public beta version of GitHub Copilot Chat services for enterprise companies and organizations, which was extended to individual users in September.

Today, GitHub announced that GitHub Copilot Chat will be fully launched in December as part of the current GitHub Copilot subscription, which will be available to any enterprise and individual user, and will be made available free of charge to educational users and maintainers of popular open source projects, integrated into GitHub websites and mobile App by default.

It is reported that GitHub Copilot Chat is mainly used to help developers write code, which can be directly integrated into the developer's desktop IDE environment, claiming that it is not limited to "code default supplement" and "code error correction", but also can automatically associate the following text directly based on the above.

GitHub claims that regardless of the level of experience of developers, they can use Copilot Chat to build complete applications or debug code bases in minutes to improve developer productivity and code accuracy.

GitHub also said that in addition to helping developers in terms of code, the AI tool can also engage in dialogue with developers, making the interaction with AI more detailed.

CTOnews.com found that GitHub claims that using GitHub Copilot can significantly improve developer productivity. In the control study, the speed at which developers used GitHub Copilot increased by 55%. Earlier research by GitHub also showed that an average of 46 per cent of code in all programming languages was generated using GitHub Copilot, compared with 61 per cent among Java developers.
