CTOnews.com, November 8, according to thepaper.cn, at the opening of the Wuzhen Summit of the 2023 World Internet Conference today, the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace released the World Internet Development report 2023, which makes a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the current situation, trends, challenges and opportunities of the global Internet development.

The United States and China remain the global leaders in Internet development, ranking first and second, respectively, according to the report. Singapore, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden and other countries have also shown strong Internet development strength, ranking in the forefront. European countries are generally better at Internet development, while Central Asia and Africa have great potential for improvement.

The report optimizes the world Internet development index system from six dimensions: information infrastructure, digital technology and innovation capability, digital economy, digital government, cyber security and international governance in cyberspace. 52 representative countries and regions in the world are analyzed. According to a comprehensive assessment, the top 10 countries this year are the United States, China, Singapore, the Netherlands, South Korea, Finland, Sweden, Japan, Canada and France.

CTOnews.com noted that this year's report pays more attention to Internet development in less developed countries and analyzes Internet applications in 21 less developed countries. Among them, the growth rate of Internet applications in 15 countries, including Laos, Myanmar and Angola, is higher than the average growth rate of selected developed countries, and these less developed countries are all "Belt and Road Initiative" co-founding countries.
