CTOnews.com, Nov. 8, according to the Wall Street Journal, Intel will be the biggest winner under the subsidies of the American Chip Act. Intel will receive subsidies of $3 billion to $4 billion (currently about 218.4-29.12 billion yuan), accounting for more than 10% of all $39 billion (currently about 283.92 billion yuan), the report said.

Of the $52.7 billion, the U.S. Department of Commerce will come up with an application plan for a manufacturing subsidy program of $39 billion (currently about 281.58 billion yuan); $11 billion (currently about 79.42 billion yuan) will be used to establish a national semiconductor technology center. It will serve the semiconductor research and development of American companies, but the address has not yet been finalized. It also provides a 25 per cent investment tax credit for chip factory construction, which is estimated to be worth $24 billion (currently about 173.28 billion yuan).

CTOnews.com reported in August that the latest official announcement said it had received applications from 460 companies, but that government agencies wanted to have more detailed negotiations on subsidies and had not begun to issue subsidies.

The report pointed out that one of the important reasons why Intel was able to receive such huge subsidies was to subsidize the production of US military chips, which Commerce Secretary Raimundo described earlier this year as a "national security investment."
