CTOnews.com November 8-Microsoft today released a press release announcing the World Update XV update for Microsoft Flight Simulator games, highlighting the addition of maps of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Microsoft officials said in a press release that this update was jointly developed with Bing Maps, Vexcel, Maxar, Gaya Simulations, Orbx and Kjetil Garpestad. CTOnews.com attaches the following main contents:

90 hand-polished scenic spots.

10 TIN (irregular triangular grid) cities

5 hand-honed airfields

Update high-resolution geographic content using significantly enhanced DEM (Digital Elevation Model) in Iceland, Norway, and Sweden

Provision of up-to-date aerial imagery and satellite data

After installing this update, players can meet new challenges and fly trips in the Nordic region:

Four discovery routes: Bergen (Norway), Gothenburg (Sweden), Faroe Islands (Denmark) and Reykjavik (Iceland).

Three landing challenges: Akureyri Airport (BIAR), the famous challenge in northern Iceland; Ekby Airport (ESSC), Sweden's epic glider challenge; and the daring challenge at Moirana Airport (ENRA) in Norway.

Three jungle tours: Denmark and Sweden's Baltic coast, traversing some of Europe's finest coastal landscapes; adventurous Greenland expeditions; and Spitsbergen, starting with exploring Spitsbergen in Norway and then crossing open waters to visit the northern mainland of Norway.

As usual, this latest world update will be released free to all Microsoft Flight Simulator owners.

The game also features a 1940s SAAB B 17A dive bomber. Available in seven livery options: SE-BYH; Swedish Air Force (17342); Swedish Air Force (17396); Ethiopian Imperial Air Force (319); Finnish Air Force (SH-1);Xbox Pilots Club; and Pilots Club, the plane costs $14.99.
