Nintendo announced today that it will produce a live-action movie called Legend of Zelda, CTOnews.com reported on November 8.

According to reports, the film will be produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc, a studio owned by Marvel filmmaker Ari Arad, directed by Wes Ball and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad.

According to officials, Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment will co-finance, of which Nintendo will contribute more than 50%, while Sony Pictures Entertainment will be responsible for global cinema distribution.

Zippo, a well-known Nintendo whistleblower, has previously revealed that Nintendo is preparing four films, namely, the sequel to Super Mario Brothers, King Kong, Legend of Zelda and Luigi.

It is said that the Legend of Zelda film is not directly adapted, but combines successive works such as "Flute of time", "the Rhythm of the Wind" and "Princess at Twilight", and the protagonist Link can speak.

Nintendo / Universal is expected to release "King Kong" on Christmas Day 2025 and a sequel to the Super Mario Brothers Movie in 2026, but the situation is unclear and the release schedule may be adjusted, Zippo said.

In fact, the Legend of Zelda games have become more and more popular, and with this popularity reaching new heights, moving to the big screen is an inevitable decision.

Although we are about to usher in the first live-action film of the Legend of Zelda, the series IP actually released an unpopular animation as early as 1989.
