According to CTOnews.com news on November 7, Nintendo today released a report for its fiscal second quarter ended September 30, 2023. Sales in the first half of the fiscal year were 796.2 billion yen (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 38.695 billion yuan), an increase of 21.2 percent over the same period last year. Operating profit was 279.9 billion yen (currently about 13.603 billion yuan), an increase of 27.0 percent.

By the end of September, Switch had sold 100 million units and 1.1 billion 3323 copies of software.

In the first half of the fiscal year, the full range of Switch sales rose 2.4 per cent year-on-year to 6.84 million. Among them, 1.25 million units were sold in Switch, 4.69 million in Switch OLED version and 900000 in Switch Lite. Total software sales rose 1.8 per cent year-on-year to 9708 million copies.

New books released in the first half of the fiscal year sold well, including 1950 million copies of the Legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom (released in May) and 2.61 million copies of Pickmin 4 (released in July).

Nintendo raised its forecast for this fiscal year and expects revenue to reach 500 billion yen (currently about 24.3 billion yuan), up from a previous forecast of 450 billion yen, while net sales are expected to be 1.58 trillion yen (currently about 76.788 billion yuan), compared with a previous forecast of 1.45 trillion yen.

Nintendo expects to sell 185m Switch games this fiscal year, compared with a previous forecast of 180 million; it still forecasts Switch hardware sales of 15 million.
