In addition to participating in the exhibition, Qualcomm also actively participated in various important meetings of the Expo. Meng Han, chairman of Qualcomm China, attended the sub-forum "Intelligent Technology and Industrial Development" of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum and delivered a keynote speech. He said that as 5G+AI enters Qianxing Baiye, the combination of generative AI on the terminal side and general-purpose large model in the cloud will better enable the digital transformation of Qianxing Baiye.

Meng pointed out that with the development of generative AI, the way of human-computer interaction will usher in a new round of development, which will change the user experience of various smart terminals (such as mobile phones, cars, PC tablets, XR, etc.) and change people's lives and production methods. He believes that the edge-side AI will promote the expansion of generative AI to a wider range, open up unlimited imagination for the innovative development of AI, and 5G+AI will become the basis of the next round of digital transformation. The AI on the edge side is explained here, which refers to the AI application that corresponds to the cloud AI and runs on the terminal side, which is closer to the actual application scenario.

Qualcomm also demonstrated many of the results of close cooperation with China's AI industry partners. For example, the Xiaomi 14 series, which can run a large AI model, is based on Qualcomm's third-generation Snapdragon 8 5G platform. Qualcomm partnered with Baichuan Intelligence to show AI big model Baichuan-7B, which is a 7 billion parameter level large model. Work with Hui Carp Technology to show the large AI model of image processing, which can expand the missing part of the picture, or expand the content outside the boundary of the picture. Also join hands with Yuanshi to intelligently display the music AI model RWKV, which can generate music according to text prompts and continue music according to user input music. Qualcomm also demonstrated notebooks based on the Snapdragon X Elite platform, a very powerful AI mobile platform that runs a generative AI model with 13 billion parameters. Snapdragon X Elite has twice the AI computing performance of the competition, while consuming only 1/3 of the power consumption, and the specific terminal devices are expected to be available to consumers in mid-2024.

Meng said that the platform of the Expo has become a "model room" for Qualcomm to demonstrate its cooperation with China's ecological partners, not only providing a very good display platform for Qualcomm, but also creating many new opportunities for Qualcomm to cooperate. 5G+AI is gradually entering all levels of society and consumers, and it also brings more development opportunities for Qualcomm and its partners.
