CTOnews.com, Nov. 7, JetBrains launched a separate Rust IDE called RustRover in September this year. RustRover has introduced a fully localized Chinese UI, and Chinese language packs are available in Marketplace, officials announced today.

According to reports, Jetbrains has been supporting Rust functions in IntelliJ IDEA and CLion in the form of plug-ins for many years. With the strong call of users, Jetbrains launched an independent Rust IDE and claimed that the function of the new IDE should be equivalent to that of the existing JetBrains IDE.

RustRover will be available under a commercial solution, and the product will be available free of charge during EAP, with the official goal of releasing RustRover by September 2024.

For existing open source plug-ins that have been developed by Jetbrains for many years, officials say the plug-in will remain open source and will be available free of charge on GitHub and Marketplace. However, in the future, officials will focus on closed-source RustRover, and for existing open source plug-ins, they will try their best to maintain compatibility with the new version of IDE, but will not fix bug or add new features.
