CTOnews.com, Nov. 7, Microsoft's Edge browser is becoming more and more versatile, with a new hidden feature in the latest Edge Canary update that improves user interaction with images on the site.

This feature, called Magnify image, allows the user to right-click any image and preview it in a larger window without leaving the current tab. In addition to zooming in on the picture, this feature can also display its alternative text or short description.

You can force it to be enabled by using the command to modify the Edge Canary shortcut, and CTOnews.com comes with an open tutorial:

Update Microsoft Edge Canary browser to 120.0.2198 or later.

Right-click the shortcut to Edge Canary and select Properties.

Click the Target input box, add a space after the path, and then add the following command:

-- enable-features=msEdgeImageMagnifyUI

Click OK in the properties window to save the changes.

Open Edge Canary Settings > system and performance, and then turn off Startup Enhancement. If the feature is turned off, you can skip this step.

Close the browser and start Edge Canary again using the modified shortcut.

Jump to a web page at random, then right-click the picture and click "Magnify image".

It is worth noting that Google is developing similar features for Chrome. Unlike Edge, Chrome allows you to preview links in small windows, similar to the ability to long press links in Apple's macOS to preview its content.
