According to CTOnews.com news on November 6, HTC released monthly operating data: consolidated operating income in October 2023 was NT $216 million, down 64.1% from the previous month and 29.35% from the same period last year; cumulative operating income in the first 10 months of this year was NT $3.434 billion, down 1.85% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com noted that analyst firm CCS Insight had predicted that HTC would pull out of the VR industry and sell intellectual property to other big companies by 2026 because of declining revenue and fierce competition. HTC responded by "solemnly denying this market rumor and forecast" and said that HTC will continue to promote the evolution and completeness of the XR, AI, Blockchain and VIVERSE biosphere with partners.

As early as around 2016, HTC began to lay out VR and create the virtual reality brand VIVE. It once became the third VR equipment manufacturer in the world after Sony and Meta, but the development of HTC's VR business has been slow in recent years.
