CTOnews.com, Nov. 6 (Xinhua)-- xAI, an artificial intelligence company led by Elon Musk, released its first product, an artificial intelligence assistant called Grok, on Friday. Musk also hinted that Tesla's car might run a smaller version of Grok natively.

On Saturday, X users and Tesla enthusiast Chuck Cook found that Musk liked a post saying that Tesla's car would run a scaled-down, quantitative version of Grok model that uses the vehicle's local computing power. After Cook mentioned this, Musk said Tesla's car may have the largest available reasoning computing power in the world-as long as the on-board artificial intelligence computer can run the Grok model.

It is not clear what application Grok will have on Tesla's car, but it has been pointed out that it may replace Tesla's current voice control system. Musk's like post mentions this, adding that Grok's SuperPrompt context window may have a limit of 25000 characters, and that the model will give priority to getting real-time content from X.

In addition, it is reported that xAI also plans to provide an application programming interface (API) for Grok, and the model is also expected to have audio and image recognition capabilities.

Musk had previously announced that Grok would be available to X's Premium Plus subscribers, starting at $16 a month (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 117 yuan). This is also the first software product that Musk has officially released since Musk founded OpenAI's competitor xAI a few months ago. On Saturday, xAI and Musk officially announced Grok, which is now available to X's Premium Plus users and is described in detail on the company's website.
