CTOnews.com, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) according to Counterpoint Research, shipments of brands such as Google, Apple and Samsung fell sharply in the United States in the third quarter of 2023, but Nokia handset maker HMD Global's shipments in the United States increased by 17 percent compared with last year.

The increase in shipments of ▲ Touyuan Counterpoint ResearchHMD Global in the US is due to the launch of a range of low-end go-volume devices in the US that were originally designed for low-margin markets such as India and Pakistan. But then HMD Global found that even if these models (Nokia G310, C300 4G) were sold in the United States, they could reach a good audience.

In the Indian market, HMD Global's Nokia brand mobile phone shipments claim to be "the biggest year-on-year growth". In this market, the number of HMD phones increased by 31%, while Motorola's shipments increased by 27%. Realme then grew by 7 per cent and Google's shipments increased by 6 per cent.

It is reported that HMD Global recently launched the C32 and G42 in India, both of which are affordable low-end models, with the Nokia G42 priced at 12499 Indian rupees (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 1097 yuan) and the Nokia C32 priced at 8999 Indian rupees (currently about 790 yuan). Counterpoint Research believes that such low-end phones could help HMD Global generate a series of "strong sales" in the Indian market, eventually boosting shipments.
