CTOnews.com Tesla faces increasing strike action in Sweden over its refusal to accept a collective labor agreement. Swedish trade union IF Metall announced the strike last week, saying it had no choice after collective agreement negotiations with Tesla failed for "a long time."

CTOnews.com understands from the IF Metall website statement that the union wants "Tesla members to enjoy the same decent and safe working conditions as members of other similar companies in Sweden." "

About 90 percent of Swedish workers have collective agreements that allow unions and companies to negotiate labor conditions and wages. IF Metall is seeking to benchmark salaries and benefits for about 120 employees working at Tesla service facilities in Sweden.

Swedish dockers said they would support the move and prevent all deliveries of Tesla from unloading. Dockers don't work directly for Tesla, but control electric cars entering Sweden's four main ports.

Musk has consistently rejected calls for employees to unionize, tweeting in 2018 that Tesla employees could lose stock options if they did. A U.S. judge later found his tweets violated labor laws.
