CTOnews.com, Nov. 5 (Xinhua)-- NASA's Smart helicopter is the first man-made vehicle to achieve power-controlled flight on another planet. the helicopter completed its 64th flight to Mars at the end of October, but engineers had planned it to fly only five times, not even sure it could fly.

The Wisdom has a 4-foot-long rotor that rotates 2400 times per minute. Dexterity captured the flight with its navigation camera, which is mounted on the fuselage of the helicopter and points down to the ground.

NASA's car-sized perseverance rover is on a mission to search the surface of Mars for signs of primitive life in the past, with the help of intelligence reconnaissance. So far, there is no evidence that life ever existed on Mars, but these robots will continue to explore deserts, especially dry rivers, streams and lake beds, where the soil may have nourished life. Dexterity and perseverance are exploring the Jazelo crater on Mars, a river delta that planetary scientists believe was once full of water.
