According to introduction, Yanyu high-speed railway is an important part of Baotou, Yinchuan to Haikou Baohai Channel of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network, and is also an important part of our province's "rice"-shaped high-speed railway network.

After the completion of the project, the layout of Shaanxi high-speed rail network will be further improved. At that time, the railway running time from Xi'an to Yulin will be shortened from 5 hours to 2 hours, and Shaanxi Province will fully realize the goal of "city-to-city high-speed rail."

According to official data, Yanyu High-speed Railway involves 7 counties (districts) of Pagoda District, Yanchuan County, Qingjian County, Suide County, Mizhi County, Hengshan District and Yuyang District of Yan 'an City, with a construction period of 4.5 years.

According to introduction, Yanyu High-speed Railway is a high-speed railway trunk line mainly focusing on the function of road network channel and taking into account passenger flow along the line. The line is located in the north of Shaanxi Province. The newly-built line length is 238.76 kilometers and the design speed reaches 350 kilometers per hour.

There are 7 stations in Yan 'an, Yan' an New District, Yanchuan, Qingjian North, Suide West, Mizhi North and Yulin South, among which Yan 'an Station is an existing station and the remaining 6 stations are newly built.

According to China Railway Group, the south end of Yan-Yu High-speed Railway is introduced into Yan 'an Railway area and connected with West (An) Yan-An High-speed Railway under construction, and it can reach Guanzhong urban agglomeration centered on Xi'an to the south; the middle part of the project is connected with the planned Qingtaiyin Express Passenger Transport Passage (Suide-Taiyuan section) in Suide Railway area, forming the most convenient passage from western Mongolia and northern Shaanxi to Taiyuan, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Shandong Peninsula; The northern end is introduced into Ordos railway area by Yu-Hubei high-speed railway, which is connected with the planned Hubao-Hubei intercity network to form the skeleton of Hubao-Hubei-Yucheng urban agglomeration intercity railway and the southward passage of Inner Mongolia.

After the completion of the project, it will be connected with the west extension high-speed railway under construction, connecting Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration and Hubao E urban agglomeration, which is of great significance to realize the integrated development of northern Shaanxi and Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration, enhance the travel convenience of people along the line and promote the economic and social development along the line.
