After investigation, the suspect Yi (male, 26) regarded paid "scolding" on the Internet as a channel to make money, and published paid scolding advertisements through platforms such as Weibo. After recruiting customers, Yi charged a fee according to prices ranging from 20 to 30 yuan, and personally attacked and insulted specific objects through Wechat and telephone according to customer requirements, causing a serious impact on the victim's work and life.

CTOnews.com noted that Yi has made a profit of more than 3000 yuan by providing such illegal services since February 2023. His behavior violated the provisions of the Public Security Administration punishment Law of the people's Republic of China and was suspected of abusing others illegally.

At present, Yi has been administratively detained in accordance with the law.

Article 42 of the Law of the people's Republic of China on punishment for Public Security Administration shall be detained for not more than five days or a fine of not more than 500 yuan for any of the following acts; if the circumstances are relatively serious, the offender shall be detained for not less than five days and not more than ten days, and a fine of not more than 500 yuan may be imposed concurrently:

Writing threatening letters or threatening the personal safety of others by other means

Openly insulting others or fabricating facts to slander others

Fabricating facts and falsely accusing others of framing others in an attempt to subject them to criminal investigation or administrative punishment for public security

Threatening, insulting, beating or retaliating against a witness and his near relatives

Sending obscene, insulting, threatening or other information many times to interfere with the normal life of others

Peeping, secretly photographing, eavesdropping or spreading other people's privacy.
