CTOnews.com, November 4 (Xinhua)-- astronomers have discovered seven hot planets larger than Earth but smaller than Neptune after reviewing the compiled data from the retired Kepler space telescope, according to a recent press release issued by NASA. Scientists named it Kepler-385.

The newly discovered Kepler-385 has a star similar to the sun at its center, but it is 10% larger and 5% hotter than our sun.

The inner planets orbiting the star are larger than Earth, and astronomers estimate that they are rocky planets with a thin atmosphere, which is estimated to be twice that of Earth.

NASA says the two inner planets are also expected to be shrouded in a thick atmosphere. These data can describe the characteristics of the planets found in Kepler-385, which proves the mass of the latest exoplanet catalogue discovered by Kepler.
