CTOnews.com news on November 4, according to the latest report released by market research firm Jon Peddie Research, global PC CPU shipments in the third quarter of 2023 were 62.7 million, up 15% from the previous year; including 56 million CPU, up 15% from the previous month, but down 9% from the same period last year.

The report shows that the penetration rate of CPU, which includes verification, will grow to 98 per cent in the next five years.

The increase in client CPU shipments in the third quarter on a month-on-month basis is good news, but overall is not particularly optimistic.

However, in the upcoming Christmas shopping season, promotions from various channels are expected to further boost PC CPU sales.
