CTOnews.com, November 4, Valve recently released the Steam software and hardware report for October this year, which shows that Win10 is still the most popular desktop operating system for players, accounting for 65.58%, an increase of 7.61% over September this year, while Win11 accounts for 30.53%, ranking second, down 6.90%.

Microsoft stopped selling Win10 products at online stores on January 31, 2023, but that still didn't stop users from reinstalling Win10 systems.

At present, most game laptops and game desktops on sale will be equipped with Win11 system, but for players, they prefer to install and use Win10 system.

Microsoft Win10 system will continue to support until October 14, 2025. CTOnews.com previously reported that PIRG, an American public interest research organization, recently launched a petition asking Microsoft to extend the support cycle of Win10 system because of environmental protection and many other factors.

Microsoft plans to stop supporting Win10 in October 2025. PIRG believes that of the 1 billion devices currently using Win10, more than 400 million devices do not meet the requirements for upgrading Win11 systems, meaning these devices do not have security protection and will eventually be thrown into the trash.
