CTOnews.com, Nov. 3-Warner Bros. announced in May that it would merge HBO Max and Discovery + into a new streaming service, Max, and said existing subscribers without advertising plans would be able to enjoy at least some benefits (such as 4K streaming) for at least the next six months without extra money.

According to foreign media The Verge, Max is sending emails to affected customers informing them that although the monthly price remains unchanged, benefits will be reduced after December 5.

Specifically, affected users will not be able to use 4K and HDR streaming, which is limited to high-definition quality; if they want to see 4K, they will need to upgrade to the "ultimate" plan, which costs $19.99 a month (currently about RMB146).

Downloads are not affected by this change, and affected users can save up to 30 movie caches on supported devices.

The Max streaming service will offer three different prices:

Max Ad-Lite:9.99 USD / month or US $99.99 / year (currently about 73 RMB / month or 732 RMB / year). Including 2 concurrent streams, 1080p resolution, no offline download, 5.1 surround sound quality, advertising.

Max Ad Free:15.99 USD / month or US $149.99 / year (currently about RMB117 / month or RMB1098 / year). Includes 2 concurrent streams, 1080p resolution, 30 offline downloads and 5.1 surround sound quality.

Max Ultimate Ad Free:19.99 USD / month or US $199.99 / year (currently about RMB 146RMB / month or RMB 1464 / year). Includes 4 concurrent streams, up to 4K UHD resolution, 100 offline downloads and Dolby panoramic sound quality (Dolby Atmos).
