In July this year, the trial operation project of double trailer trains was officially launched in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, and this innovative measure has aroused warm response and high concern in the transport industry. The multimodal double-trailer train is a typical modular transport mode, which changes the transport volume that originally needs two tractors to be completed by a double-trailer, combined with the transport mode of swinging boxes, which can greatly meet the transport efficiency at the same time, maximize the reduction of operating costs, and achieve remarkable results in saving fuel consumption and reducing carbon emissions.

Compared with common semi-trailers, the transport volume of this batch of trial double trailers can be increased by 50%, and the transport unit cost of various comprehensive cargo combinations can be reduced by an average of 34%. What is more noteworthy is that compared with semi-trailers, under the premise of doubling the transport volume, the energy consumption has only increased by 20%, effectively achieving the goal of energy saving and emission reduction in each transportation.

Build a Chinese intelligent safety double-trailer train with "gradual"

According to the third requirement of the double-trailer train driving rules issued by Ordos City, the double-trailer train should install a panoramic look system to provide a 360 °panoramic picture of the vehicle and a blind area monitoring system to automatically identify and alarm pedestrians, non-motorized vehicles and obstacles that are at risk of collision and crushing within the look area.

The requirement of this regulation is to avoid the risk of accidents caused by vehicle restrictions such as the long length and heavy load of double trailers, which are more difficult to turn or turn on narrow roads than ordinary semi-trailers. Therefore, based on the consideration of the current domestic commercial vehicle technical configuration and driver requirements, the double trailer train, which is popular in Europe and other places, has not been approved for going on the road in China for a long time, which also creates a huge demand for intelligent driving technology, and finally becomes the background of this double trailer landing cooperation.

In the follow-up, according to the characteristics of the double-trailer train model, the distributed hybrid tractor + power trailer mode is adopted to effectively reduce the higher power demand of the traction head due to the double-trailer design. at the same time, it meets the needs of adaptation for more traction models. In addition, through the hybrid design to ensure that the engine runs in an efficient energy consumption range, with the design of the power plant on the trailer to achieve braking energy recovery, and further reduce the vehicle fuel consumption.

By adopting a more flexible and energy-saving distributed power design, combined with the actual installation of vehicle-road coordination, predictive navigation, cloud monitoring and other functions, Troian uses the "entrusted defined car" mode to create safer and more intelligent double-trailer trains for China's transport industry, and provides the industry with a more scientific and efficient solution to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
