The generator based on the above technology is mainly composed of free piston thermoacoustic engine and linear motor, which mainly includes heater, thermoacoustic transducer, cooler and so on. Linear motor mainly includes power piston, permanent magnet, coil and other components.

According to the test of the expert group, when the heat source temperature is 530℃ (molten salt heating), the measured maximum power of the prototype reaches 102kWe (rated power), which exceeds 100 kilowatts.

The successful development of this prototype makes China the first country in the world to master the development technology of high-power free piston thermoacoustic Stirling power generation, and has a wide application prospect in the fields of solar thermal power generation, biomass power generation and distributed cogeneration of cold, heat and power.

Hu Jianying, a researcher at the Institute of Science and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the breakthrough in the power of the free piston thermoacoustic Stirling generator has greatly expanded its application field. it has become a new generation of energy-power conversion technology with wide application prospects in the fields of solar thermal power generation, biomass power generation and distributed energy.
