CTOnews.com, November 3 (Xinhua)-- on July 1 this year, SpaceX successfully launched the Euclid Space Telescope of the European Space Agency (ESA) to explore dark matter and dark energy in the universe and observe billions of galaxies 10 billion light-years away.

According to the latest news from ESA, the first five full-color images taken by the Euclid Space Telescope will be released at 21:15 on November 7, Beijing time, according to the ▲ website.

ESA says the Euclid Union is currently analyzing the data captured in the images. A comprehensive scientific paper will be published at the end of this year to reveal the scientific miracles captured in these first images.

Conventional scientific observations will begin in early 2024. The Euclid Space Telescope will collect data in space over the next six years and will release it to the world at its annual data release event. CTOnews.com partners can look forward to new images for the next few years.

According to reports, the Euclid mission of ESA aims to explore the composition and evolution of the dark universe. The space telescope will create the largest and most accurate 3D map of the universe across space and time by observing billions of galaxies in more than 1/3 skies within 10 billion light-years. Euclid will explore how the universe expands and how large-scale structures are and how they are distributed in space and time, revealing more about the role of gravity and the nature of dark energy and dark matter.

In addition, astronomers plan to investigate unsolved mysteries such as why the universe is expanding. To better understand these phenomena, Euclid's cosmic images will take six years to draw in detail after the first three months of data calibration, with more than 2000 scientists from Europe, Canada, Japan and the United States participating in the study.
