CTOnews.com, Nov. 2, Google started the "Mobile first Index (Mobile-FirstIndexing)" project in 2016, that is, "the Google search engine will crawl the mobile platform UA pages of the site by default and index and rank the mobile version of the site." the project has been officially completed for seven years.

However, CTOnews.com found that the index change project had jumped several times, and Google announced in early March 2020 that it would extend the deadline for "switching all site search results to mobile UA indexes" to September 2020, and then in July 2020, Google again postponed the deadline to March 2021, but Google did not finally complete the project until 2023.

Google also said that a small number of websites simply cannot run on mobile devices, and some sites are blocked by robots.txt. For these sites, Google will continue to try to use the traditional desktop version of UA to crawl website information.

Starting in 2015, Google search began to pay more and more attention to mobile devices. In 2016, we started the Mobile priority Index project. This allows Google to search the default index of what users will see when they visit the site using their mobile phones.

This is a major change for Google's infrastructure, but also a major change for public networks.
