Jibang Consulting said in the report that Apple is testing the operational control of the Tata Group, testing its yield with a small number of iPhone 15 orders.

If the Tata Group can prove its ability, it can control the existing Wittronic plant, and more iPhone orders may be delivered in the future.

Wittronic, which currently assembles orders for iPhone 14 at its plant in Bangalore, has pledged to produce at least $1.8 billion worth of iPhone by March 2024 to secure production subsidies from the Indian government. After the completion of the deal, Tata Group will take over and fulfill this commitment.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Willon's board of directors approved the sale of Willon Telematics Manufacturing India Pte Ltd to Tata Electronics Pte Ltd for about $125 million (currently about 915 million yuan). Wizuang didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
