According to introduction, the project is located in the south of Laos. The main contents of the project include design, procurement and construction of 1000 MW wind farm, construction of power transmission and other related infrastructure, with an annual power generation capacity of about 2.4 billion kWh.

The project will transmit electricity to neighboring countries through cross-border transmission lines, making important contributions to Laos 'building of "Southeast Asian batteries" and promoting power interconnection in Indochina Peninsula. The project is a landmark project in Laos 'new energy development plan and will become the largest wind power project in Southeast Asia upon completion.

CTOnews.com has learned that since entering the Lao market in 1996, China Power Construction has widely participated in the contracting and investment fields of Laos 'power, transportation, municipal administration and other projects. It is an important participant in Laos' economic construction and development and the largest power contractor in Laos.

It is worth mentioning that in Sekong Province, China Electric Power Construction has also contracted the construction of Mengsong 600 MW wind farm. The annual power generation capacity of the project is about 1.72 billion kWh, which is the first wind power project in Laos. It was started in March this year. At present, the first wind turbine has been successfully hoisted and entered the stage of full startup of unit hoisting.

After completion, it will mainly transmit electricity to Vietnam, enabling Laos to realize cross-border transmission of new energy power for the first time. The two wind farms will have a combined installed capacity of 1600 MW and will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 95 million tonnes over their expected lifetime.
