CTOnews.com, Nov. 2 (Xinhua)-- Game publisher EA recently reported revenue of $1.91 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2024 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 13.981 billion yuan), exceeding expectations of $1.8 billion.

Net bookings in the second quarter reached $1.82 billion (currently about 13.322 billion yuan), up 4 per cent from a year earlier. Net profit rose sharply to $399 million (currently about 2.921 billion yuan) from $299 million in the same period last year.

EA said the better-than-expected results were mainly due to the strength of its EA SPORTS portfolio and the successful launch of "EA SPORTS FC 24".

Looking ahead, EA expects net income for fiscal 2024 to be about $7.3 billion to $7.7 billion (currently about 53.436 billion to 56.364 billion yuan) and net profit to be about $1.118 billion to $1.273 billion (currently about 8.188 billion to 9.318 billion yuan).

CTOnews.com previously reported that after ending nearly 30 years of cooperation with FIFA, EA launched the "EA SPORTS FC 24" game, which got off to a successful start, with more top-selling players than "FIFA 23".
