According to CTOnews.com, this storage tank is located in Qingdao, Shandong Province. It is the achievement of a complete set of full-capacity LNG (liquefied natural gas) storage tank technology independently developed by China. The localization level has been raised to 95%. It is the liquefied natural gas storage tank with the highest localization degree at present. The commissioning of the storage tank has added 165 million cubic meters of gas storage capacity to Qingdao LNG receiving station, which can meet the gas demand of 2.16 million households for 5 months in heating season.

Qingdao LNG receiving station is the only LNG receiving terminal in use in Shandong Province, covering Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei, Henan and other provinces and cities. It is one of the main gas sources in North China. Since the station was commissioned in November 2014, it has exported more than 44.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The smooth commissioning of this storage tank has increased the annual rotation capacity of the receiving station to 11 million tons and the annual gas supply capacity to exceed 16.5 billion cubic meters, becoming a member of the 10 million tons LNG (liquefied natural gas) receiving station.
