CTOnews.com, Nov. 2 (Xinhua)-- Meta is investigating a tracking problem with its Quest 3 VR headers after users reported that in some games, the tracking performance of the controller was "much worse than that of Quest 2."

On the Meta community forum, user NotDream reported that he encountered tracking problems with the Quest 3 handle while playing Gorilla Tag, a VR game that needs to run, jump and climb by waving his arms, saying that "you will lose tracking when moving your hands from medium speed to fast speed", such as throwing or catching the ball.

CTOnews.com noted that other forum members under the same topic also claimed to have encountered similar tracking problems in other VR games, such as Beatsaber, Supernatural, and Tennis Esports. One of the game developers, carrotstien, who is said to be the developer of Eleven Table Tennis, believes that the problem is due to the LED arrangement on the handle. Carrotstien also said, "some users insisted on using their Quest 2 headers because of tracking problems and returned their Quest 3."

According to New World Notes, in the past few weeks, there have been posts on Reddit complaining about similar handle tracking problems. These problems seem particularly obvious to competitive players who use adapters, which are handle accessories, such as batting handles, that can make the game experience more natural.

In response to NotDream posts, the Meta Quest support team said the team was actively investigating tracking issues and working to improve performance, especially for "competitive players" in games such as Gorilla Tag, Supernatural, IB Cricket and Eleven Table Tennis.
