Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
The November version of the Studio driver will be launched tomorrow, and Sabour Amirazodi, creative director of NVIDIA, shares his creepy haunted house on this week's "NVIDIA Studio Creative acceleration".
NVIDIA Omniverse is a platform for connecting and building custom 3D tools and applications. The platform now has a high-profile NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 update, which includes light reconstruction technology.
The new version of the NVIDIA Studio driver released tomorrow will support RTX video super resolution (VSR) technology and will be available to RTX GPU users for free. The version 1.5 update provides better overall graphics fidelity and provides up-sampling technology for native video, while also supporting GeForce RTX 20 series GPU.
Sabour Amirazodi, creative director and visual effects producer of NVIDIA, is back on this week's "NVIDIA Studio Creative acceleration" to share his Halloween theme project. The project, set against the backdrop of his house, presents an all-encompassing projection performance, a mix of creepy songs, animations and props.
The latest Studio Standouts video, featuring Halloween-themed ghouls, scary monsters, haunted hospitals and gloomy homes, is not suitable for timid viewers.
Excellent light reconstruction
NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 supports ray reconstruction technology, which replaces artificially designed image denoisers with AI networks trained by NVIDIA supercomputers to generate higher quality pixels between sampled rays, thereby improving the ray-tracing image quality of GeForce RTX GPU.
Even with the help of high-end hardware, the preview content in the window may sometimes present a less-than-ideal image quality, because traditional image denoisers require developers to manually adjust for each scene.
With the help of DLSS 3.5 and AI neural network, various scenes can be identified, and the time required for scene rendering can be greatly reduced while generating high-quality preview images.
NVIDIA Omniverse and USD Composer applications with the Omniverse RTX renderer specialize in real-time preview mode, providing raytraced reasoning during construction and iteration to produce higher-quality preview content.
To enable this feature, open Render Settings (render Settings) under "Ray Tracing", and then open the "Direct Lighting" tab to make sure that "New Denoiser (experimental)" (experimental new noise reducer) is on.
The return of "Haunted Sanctuary" to Sabour Amirazodi's "homemade" installation art series "Halloween Sanctuary" has become an annual Halloween tradition, and his neighbors are very happy about it.
People gathered to enjoy the shocking Halloween light show.
First, Amirazodi placed props such as pumpkins and skeletons around his house.
Physical props make the gloomy and scary atmosphere a little bit stronger.
Then he began to place the projector carefully. He made a protective case for the projector, which can both protect the projector and integrate it into the scene.
Amirazodi customized the projector protective shell and completed the related welding and coloring work to ensure that the appearance and style of the protective shell is consistent with the decoration of the Halloween theme.
Projection mapping is needed to build a virtual scene on a solid surface, so Amirazodi uses NVIDIA GPU accelerated MadMapper software and its structured light scanning function to map custom visual effects to its own house. He did this by connecting the DSLR camera to a mobile workstation powered by NVIDIA RTX GPU.
"in the past few years, I have used the OctaneRender rendering engine to render 32862 5K animations. Now the entire animation lasts 21 minutes, plus 28 minutes of music shows!" -Sabour Amirazodi
Amirazodi took a series of lines and photos with a camera. He then converts the content into an image from the perspective of the projector and builds a 3D model based on that image. The basic camera matching tool in Cinema 4D also helps to rebuild the scene. After that, Amirazodi made various mapping and perspective correction edits.
When doing projection mapping, you need to make sure that the virtual world matches the size of the real world, and Amirazodi does this with the help of Cinema 4D.
Next, Amirazodi animates the character and binds it to bones. GPU acceleration in the window enables smooth interaction with complex 3D models.
"I like to choose between multiple third-party 3D renderers accelerated by NVIDIA GPU, such as V-Ray, OctaneRender, and Redshift in Cinema 4D," Amirazodi said.
"I switched to a NVIDIA graphics card in 2017, and for creators who are keen on creation, using GPU is the only way to success." -Sabour Amirazodi
Next, Amirazodi spends a lot of time rendering all the animations, assembling them in Adobe After Effects, and then compositing all the animations on the scanned canvas in MadMapper. After that, he carefully crafted each scene and rendered it in pieces, and then assembled the scenes in Adobe Premiere Pro. It is worth noting that Amirazodi needs to repeat the above workflow for each projector.
When satisfied with the animation sequence, Amirazodi uses Adobe Media Encoder to encode everything and load it into the BrightSign digital player. All digital players are connected to ensure that the content of the project is played synchronously.
Amirazodi took advantage of GPU acceleration to simplify his workflow, which saved him a lot of time. "After Effects has a lot of plug-ins for GPU acceleration," he said. "in addition, both Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder use the new dual encoder in NVIDIA RTX Ada Generation GPU, which cuts my export time in half."
With the blessing of NVIDIA RTX GPU, the timeline in Adobe Premiere Pro moves quite smoothly.
All of Amirazodi's efforts are based on the "Halloween spirit", which is to create an unforgettable and scary experience for his community.
"seeing the smile on my child's face and realizing the great joy my work has brought to the whole community, I think it's worth every long night and hard work," he recalls. "
