CTOnews.com news on November 2, according to the latest estimate released by market research agency IDC, the global AI software market will be $64 billion in 2022 and is expected to increase to $279 billion in 2027, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 31.4%.

A recent survey by IDC found that over the next 12 months, about 1/3 of respondents believe that organizations are more likely to purchase AI software from vendors or use internal support and vendor-provided AI software for specific use environments or application areas. This shows the growing demand for AI solutions and highlights the need for customized methods based on individual business needs.

AI applications account for the highest proportion of AI software, accounting for about 1/3 of total market revenue in 2023. This category includes collaboration, content workflow and management, enterprise resource management (ERM), supply chain management, production and operations, engineering and customer relationship management (CRM) applications. The AI app category will grow at a CAGR of 21.1% over the next 5 years.

In terms of 2023 revenue, the second largest category is artificial intelligence platforms. During the forecast period from 2023 to 2027, artificial intelligence platforms will have the second fastest growth rate (35.8% compound annual growth rate) and will become the largest income category in most forecasts. Artificial intelligence platforms promote the development of artificial intelligence models and applications, such as intelligent assistants that can imitate human cognitive abilities.
