Statcounter data show that Windows 11 market share has risen significantly, from 23.64% in September to 26.14% in October 2023. In addition, the share of Win10 fell 2.27 percentage points last month, but is still as high as 69.35 per cent.

Win11's market share has been stagnant for a long time since April 2023, so this month's significant growth could be good for Microsoft.

A new report shows that Windows 11 now has more than 400 million monthly active users, which is significantly higher than Microsoft initially expected.

As can be seen from the chart, the growth of Windows 11 is directly related to the decline of Windows 10 market share. However, as the remaining Windows 7 users are slowly upgrading to the supported Windows version, the latter can offset some of the losses. Currently, Windows 7's market share has fallen to 3.03 per cent.

Windows 10-69.35% (- 2.27%, month-on-month-1.91%)

Windows 11-26.14% (+ 2.5%, year-on-year increase of 10.69%)

Windows 7-3.03% (- 0.3%, year-on-year-6.6%)

It is worth mentioning that Windows 10 will end support in October 2025, which may be a bit embarrassing for users who do not plan to upgrade PC within these two years.
