CTOnews.com Nov 2, Apple announced that it will stop offering low-cost Apple Music Voice Plan (voice-activated solution) this month, and Apple has confirmed it in its support documentation.

Apple said: "Apple will stop providing Apple Music Voice Plan from November. We are committed to providing our customers with the best and most powerful music experience, including immersive spatial audio, Apple Music Sing (with real-time lyrics), intuitive browsing and discovery, and so on."

Apple says existing subscribers can continue to use Voice Plan during their last package cycle, but will lose access after that period. Apple did not say why it stopped the package, but said other Apple Music packages "have been able to work seamlessly with Siri, and we will continue to optimize the experience."

Apple added that existing subscribers will receive a notification containing more information before the end of the final billing cycle.

CTOnews.com noted that the price of Voice Plan is 5 yuan per month in China, and users can only access Apple Music through Siri in this package, which was launched in December 2021 as part of iOS 15.2.

Voice Plan has full access to the Apple Music song catalog, but music playback can only be controlled through Siri and lacks some of the other features provided in the more expensive package, such as download, space audio, and home sharing.
