Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, November 2, according to a recent market research newsletter released by Tianfeng Securities analyst Guo Mingyi, India accounts for 12-14% of global iPhone production this year, and expects that proportion to rise to 20-25% next year.

In the newsletter, Guo Mingyi also revealed that Apple plans to launch the new product introduction (NPI) of the standard version of iPhone 17 (released in the second half of 2025) in India in the second half of 2024.

This will be the first time Apple has developed a new iPhone outside China, and the main reason for choosing the standard version of iPhone is that it is less difficult to design and develop and can reduce risk.

CTOnews.com Note: NPI refers to the whole process of manufacturing, R & D and design products for the first time. NPI engineers are responsible for the introduction of new products.

Guo Mingyi also said: "making the Indian company Tata an iPhone assembler (which has acquired the iPhone production line in India) will strengthen the partnership between Apple and the Indian government and facilitate the future sale of iPhone and other products in the Indian market, which is the key to the growth of Apple in the next decade."

The report points out that 75-80% of the iPhone products produced in India this year come from Hon Hai OEM.

Due to the expansion of capacity at Hon Hai's Indian plant and the increase in the proportion of iPhone assembly at Lixun Precision, Hon Hai's Zhengzhou plant will reduce iPhone capacity by 35-45 per cent next year, while the Taiyuan plant will be reduced by 75-85 per cent.
