Officials say the Apple Pencil (USB-C) has a matte design, the straight side can be magnetically attached to the side of the iPad for easy storage, and the USB-C cable is used for pairing and charging.

CTOnews.com learned from Apple officials that the Apple Pencil (USB-C) has the same pixel accuracy, low latency and tilt angle sensing functions as previous first-and second-generation products, but removes the pressure sensing function.

The new Apple Pencil supports new iPadOS features such as handwriting, quick memos, and collaborating with others in boundless App. When used in conjunction with the iPad Pro model with M2 chip, the new Apple Pencil supports hovering function to help users draw and paint more accurately.

There is a USB-C port under the sliding pen cap, and users can use the USB-C cable to pair and charge the new Apple Pencil. When magnetically attached to the side of the iPad, the new Apple Pencil will go into a dormant state to save power.
